Powell Canada is a large and growing electrical manufacturing company based in Edmonton, Alberta. We design, manufacture and package equipment and systems for the distribution, control, generation and management of electrical energy and other dynamic processes. We work with large industrial customers such as oil and gas producers, refineries, petrochemical plants, pulp and paper mills, transportation facilities, and public and private utilities. Job Description The primary function of the Service Technician is to provide field service engineering and technical assistance to customers in the areas of installation, testing, start-up, maintenance, repair, training and modification of electrical power distribution equipment, controls and rotating apparatus for commercial, petrochemical, mining, water and waste water and power generation facilities. Individuals must be capable of self-managing assigned projects for electrical equipment, including a working knowledge of electrical test and diagnostic equipment. Equipment includes circuit breakers, switchgear, motor control centers, relays, meters, programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, transducers, contactors, ground-grid systems, switchboards, panel boards and other electrical equipment. Candidate will deliver technical solutions to customers with a high degree of professionalism as well as perform conventional less complex engineering assignments that may involve equipment or product design, testing of materials, preparation of specifications, process studies, or research investigations. The candidate will also evaluate electrical distribution systems in compliance with industry (NEC, ANSI, UL and CSA) standards.
- 5 yrs. experience in a field service environment servicing electrical equipment.
- Journeyman Electrician Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to be flexible to adjust to changing field conditions.
- Valid Driver's License
These (2) positions are actually for Eastern Canada and will be based out of Montreal, Quebec
CET, Electrical Engineer and/or Journeyman Electrician
Candidate must be Bilingual (English and French)
